Revealed: the All-New 2021 Acura TLX

Acura has been generating a lot of excitement this year as it dives in on the Precision Based Performance direction. Starting with the revival of the NSX several years ago, Acura has rededicated itself to producing luxury vehicles that aren’t just beautiful, reliable, and high-quality. The brand has refocused to bring impressive performance back into its lineup. Starting with the PMC edition MDX and TLX, and then the Type S Concept, Acura has been actively been building towards the release of the 2021 TLX and the Acura of Brookfield team couldn’t be more excited to share the details with you.
Starting with an all-new platform, the Acura engineering team designed the new TLX to be aggressive and responsive. The increased wheelbase and track width provide improved stability as well as handling worthy of the performance upgrades under the hood. Thanks to the increased wheelbase and track with, the overall road presence of the new TLX is more fitting for its aggressive personality. The sculpted, aerodynamic body is complemented by the Diamond Pentagon front grille and Jewel Eye® headlights surrounded by the “Chicane” daytime running lights. The new design of the TLX truly reflects the performance it is capable of.
The changes in the 2021 Acura TLX aren’t all aesthetic. The re-engineered powertrain options feature two turbocharged engines. The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will produce an impressive 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a 10-speed Sequential SportShift transmission with paddle shifters, drivers will be in total control of the brand’s fastest sedan yet. Front-wheel drive is standard but the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system that was first used in the NSX really brings out the best of the 2021 TLX. Many enthusiasts are also anticipating the return of the Type S badge.
The new 2021 TLX accurately illustrates Acura’s dedication to the Precision Based Performance initiative. Acura’s designers and engineers have truly channeled the spirit of Acura that created so many enthusiasts for the brand in the 1990s and early 2000s. Acura of Brookfield is proud to be a part of the Acura family and we’re excited for the future with Acura.
