What are the Most Common Services Performed?

What you can expect at your recommended maintenance appointment

At Acura of Brookfield, we encourage you to be an active participant in your vehicle’s maintenance. At each service appointments, we’ll provide a list of all services performed so you can stay on top of your vehicle’s care. Here are some of the most common services performed during routine maintenance.

Inspect brake pads and linings, discs, and drums

The brake pads and linings on your vehicle wear out over time, decreasing braking performance. While the brake discs and drums the pads/linings come in contact with do not normally wear out, we inspect both the pads/linings and discs/drums to ensure proper wear patterns and material measurements that will give the highest levels of performance and safety margins.

Rotate wheels/tires

Tires are a normal wear item on your vehicle, but all four tires might not wear perfectly even, especially if your vehicle is out of alignment or improper air pressures are used. Rotating your tires from front to back and side to side will ensure proper wear over the life of your tires, increasing fuel economy, safety, and overall tire lifespan.

Change engine oil

The engine oil is the lubrication that keeps the internals of your engine from contacting each other. Without this film of oil, your engine would be unable to move. By changing the engine oil, we ensure your vehicle will perform at its best and last for many more years.

Replace engine oil filter

As engine oil is transported throughout the engine, it is possible for tiny pieces of dirt or metal to be picked up in the lubricant. If these contaminants come in contact with the engine internals, improper wear could ensue, leading to engine failure. The engine oil filter makes sure these contaminants do not interfere with the engine oil’s lubrication of vital engine parts.

Rotate/adjust tires and air pressure

Tires are a normal wear item on your vehicle, but all four tires might not wear perfectly even, especially if your vehicle is out of alignment or improper air pressures are used. Rotating your tires and adjusting tire pressures to proper specifications will ensure proper wear over the life of your tires, increasing fuel economy, safety, and overall tire lifespan.

Inspect fluid levels

Fluids such as engine coolant, transmission fluid, and even windshield washer fluid are imperative to the proper operation of your vehicle, and can even enhance the safety of your drive. Having low levels of these fluids can lead to expensive repairs or various failures, so we inspect and fill these fluids as necessary.
